Your primary ways of engaging in this course will be through 1) attendance and participation, 2) a series of short writing assignments, 3) a museum visit and reflection, and 4) a group presentation. Each assignment will have a clear rubric and will be assessed primarily for content. I may give you additional feedback on other things (like grammar and writing style), but your grade will be based on whether you completed the assignment, covered the material accurately and/or expressed yourself clearly and thoughtfully. I encourage you to get actively involved in class—much of what we do will break down skills and concepts and make assignments easier, and our classes will be based not just on telling you about artworks but on you discussing and analyzing those artworks with your classmates.
